Introducing a new child, gives family and friends the opportunity to gather together to celebrate a joyous welcome! By naming a child formally, we mark the uniqueness of this special person and celebrate the continuation of life.
In choosing a non-religious ceremony to mark this important occasion, you help define and acknowledge the circle of love guidance that will help to protect and shape this new person as they mature.
There are countless options to make this day a special event. I will work with you to create a secular ceremony that best reflects your wishes. This can include poems, music, the collection of keepsakes or a book of advice, just to name a few ideas.
You can choose who you would like to participate in your ceremony. You may have friends or family who you would like to serve as Guides, Mentors, or Guardians.
This is an excellent opportunity for the child’s community to come together to offer their support to Mom and Dad and declare their desire to witness and help shape the development of a new, thoughtful and compassionate person!
